What's the difference between SVG and PNG formats?
Both formats work great and can be used for different design purposes. When using the free PNG, attribution to the author is required, which is not necessary if you have a subscription.
- PNG(Portable Network Graphics) is a raster graphics file format composed of individual pixels arranged in a grid that works best with complex images with many colors and details (photographs, digital artwork, etc). But it may not be suitable for customization, printing, and other purposes.
- SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a resolution-independent vector graphics file format that uses lines, shapes, and curves instead of pixels. SVG files are fully editable using design software and can be scaled to any size without losing quality, making them ideal for customization and printing. In addition, SVG is widely supported by web browsers.
