Custom Character is a feature of Freepik’s AI image generator that enables the creation of cohesive, well-defined characters by fine-tuning models trained on specific visual styles and personality traits.

How to train a Custom Character?

1. In Freepik AI image generator, go to Character —> New character.
2. Select your character name.
3. Upload images of the character (5 to 25 are sufficient, but we recommend at least 12).
4. Select the quality level.
5. Wait a few minutes (it might take between 15 and 30 minutes) while the training session registers the character.

How can I ensure the consistency of character designs?

Include different angles and expressions: images with varied angles, backgrounds, lighting, and facial expressions make the character feel natural and dynamic.

When you’re generating an image with a Custom Character, incorporate defining features in your prompts, such as 'pink hair' or 'smiling expression', to emphasize the character traits you wish to highlight. If you desire a specific appearance occasionally—like a particular outfit—be mindful not to overuse it in your images or prompts.

If you enter a very detailed prompt that might affect the Custom Character appearance, you can tune this down to get better results.

You can use your Custom Characters with the following modes:

• Mystic 1.0
• Mystic 2.5
• Flux 1.0

How many credits does the training consume?

The credit consumption varies based on the quality level you select:

• High: 1000 credits
• Ultra: 3000 credits

Generally, opting for a higher quality level results in improved image quality, though it will also require longer training time.

Can I create Custom Characters if I’m a free user?

Custom Character is not available for free or Essential users. If you want to create Custom Characters, you need a Premium, Premium+, or Pro plan.
