Projects
What is the Projects section?
Projects help you keep your creative work perfectly organized across all Freepik tools.
Every time you create something — whether generating an image, editing a design, or creating a video — your work is automatically saved inside a Project. By default all creations are saved in the Personal Project.
Each Project keeps all your related creations, uploads, and downloads together, so you can easily find, edit, and manage them over time.
If you have a Teams or Enterprise plan, you can also share Projects with teammates, see everyone’s creations, and collaborate efficiently in one shared place.
Who can use Projects?
Projects are available for all paid subscribers.
- Individual Plans:
You can create unlimited Projects, organize them with folders and subfolders, and manage all your creations from one place. - Teams and Enterprise Plans:
Members can share Projects with others in the same plan, collaborate inside shared Projects, and access all creations made by their teammates.
Free users can view Projects and folders created while they were subscribed but can’t create new ones.
Where can I find my Projects?
You can access your Projects from:
- The left sidebar in Freepik, right below the Freepik logo.
- Or from All Projects section
When you open the dropdown at the top-left corner, you’ll see all your Projects listed.
You can search, pin your favorites for quick access, or create a new Project directly from there.
How do I create a new Project?
Click + New project from the Projects dropdown or the 'All projects' page.
A modal will appear asking you to name your Project:
Enter a name and click Create.
Your new Project will automatically include default folders:
- History — where all your AI creations are saved by default
- Uploads — where your uploaded files are stored
- Downloads — where downloaded assets are listed
- Trash — where deleted files stay for 30 days before being permanently removed
How do I organize my files?
Projects make it simple to keep everything tidy:
- Create folders and subfolders inside any Project.
- Move assets between folders or to other Projects.
- Drag and drop assets directly in the “My creations” area into folders.
- Rename, delete, or restore files from the Trash.
- Use bulk actions to move, delete, or download multiple files at once.
- You can also create new folders while moving files — just type a name and click Add folder.
Can I create directly inside a folder from the tools?
Yes. When you open a Freepik tool (like the Image Generator), you’ll be able to select a specific folder from the dropdown within the feed.
Anything you create there will automatically be saved in that folder — keeping your workflow clean and organized.
How can I switch between Projects?
Use the dropdown at the top of the sidebar to quickly switch between Projects.
You can pin your most-used Projects so they appear first for easy access.
What can I do with individual files?
For each file inside your Project, you can:
- Open and edit using any Freepik tool.
- Download in your preferred format.
- Move it to another folder or Project.
- Delete or restore from Trash.
- If it was created with an AI tool, save it as a style to reuse later.
How can I share my Projects?
If you have a Teams or Enterprise plan, you can share entire Projects with teammates for collaboration.
To share:
- Open your Projects view.
- Click the three dots (⋮) on a Project card.
- Select Share.
- Add teammates by email.
Roles
- Viewer: Can only view the content shared → Not available yet, Coming soon.
- Editor: Can add, move, or delete assets and create new folders inside the shared Project.
(Editors cannot delete the Project itself or change ownership.)
Only full Projects can be shared — folders or files can’t be shared individually in this version.
Shared Projects appear under the Shared with me tab.
Can I move assets to another Project?
Yes. You can move or copy any asset (image, video, or folder) to another Project.
Open the Move to folder dialog and choose a different Project from the dropdown.
What happens when I delete a file or folder?
Deleted items are sent to the Trash section inside each Project.
They remain there for 30 days before being permanently deleted.
You can restore or permanently remove them at any time.
In shared Projects, the Trash includes deleted items from all users with access.
Can I share public links to my creations?
No — in upcoming updates, you’ll be able to publish Projects, folders, or files with view-only public URLs.
Anyone with the link will be able to see or download your work, but not edit it.
In summary
Projects help you:
- Keep all your creations from different Freepik tools organized.
- Manage files easily through folders, subfolders, and drag-and-drop.
- Move and share assets effortlessly.
- Collaborate with your team in a single, organized place.
