    The Composition feature in the Freepik AI Image Generator gives you control over the structure and layout of your visuals before you generate them. It’s designed to help you guide the AI more precisely.

    What is the Composition reference feature?

    Composition is a layout control tool that helps you generate more consistent, visually structured images with AI. Instead of relying only on a text prompt, you can guide the generation process by showing the AI what you want in a visual way.

    How to use a reference image as a composition

    If you already have a visual layout in mind, using a reference image is a quick way to guide the AI.

    To use this option:

    Open the AI Image Generator

    Click Composition in the left sidebar.

    Select Reference image.

    Choose an image and click Use image.

    Write a prompt, choose a generation mode, and click Generate.

    This method is useful when you want to replicate the structure of an existing image while generating something entirely new in terms of content and style.

    How to sketch a composition

    You can create your composition using a sketch, one of the options available inside the Composition feature of the AI Image Generator. This method lets you draw a rough layout to guide the structure of your image before it's generated.

    To sketch a composition:

    Open the AI Image Generator

    Click Composition in the left sidebar.

    Select Sketch.

    Draw your layout directly on the canvas.

    Use freehand tools to define shapes or areas.

    You can also add comments to label elements (e.g., “sky,” “button,” “logo”).

    Include icons or upload example images.

    Optionally, select a Style to apply a visual tone.

    Click Use as composition.

    A prompt will be generated based on your sketch.

    Edit it if needed.

    Select the image mode and click Generate.

    Using preset compositions

    Preset compositions are ready-made layouts included within the Composition feature. They're a fast way to start designing with a structured base, especially when you need inspiration.

    To use a preset:

    Open the AI Image Generator

    Click Composition in the left sidebar.

    Choose one of the available preset compositions.

    Edit the layout as needed.

    Draw directly on the composition box, add comments, icons, or reference images to customize it.

    Click Use as composition.

    Adjust the generated prompt if needed.

    Select a mode and click Generate.

    Usage limits and rights

    Each generation uses credits. The amount varies depending on the selected image AI models. The three available models are Flux (1,080 credits/image), Mystic 1.0 (100 credits/image), and Mystic 2.5 (100 credits/image).

    All generated content is subject to Freepik's Terms and Conditions for AI Products. You can use AI-generated images for personal or professional purposes, as long as they don’t infringe on third-party rights.
