How to expand photos with AI
Open the Freepik AI Suite and click Edit from the tool menu.
Drop your image or select one from your creations.
Click Edit again and select the Resize tool.
Click on Expand to open the AI expansion tool.
Select an aspect ratio or use Presets.
Drag the crop handles outward to define the new space.
If you want to control the fill, write a short prompt (e.g., “forest background, natural light”).
Click Export and choose Download, Upscale, or Use.
If you click “Use”, you can take your image to a mockup or a design.
If you leave the prompt blank, the AI will extend your image using the surrounding style and colors.

How to crop images
Access the Freepik AI Suite and click Edit.
Upload your image or select one from your AI creations.
Click Edit and select the Resize tool.
Click on Crop to access the cropping tool.
Choose a preset size (like 1:1, 16:9, 9:16) or use Presets.
Drag and reposition the crop frame as needed.
Click Apply to save the new composition.
