Terms and conditions Contributor challenge
1. Organising entity
The present challenge - hereinafter, the 'Challenge' - is organised by Freepik Company, S.L.U., with registered office at Calle Molina Lario 13, 5th floor, 29015, Malaga, Spain, and Tax Identification Number B-93183366 - hereinafter, 'Freepik'.
2. Purpose of the Challenge
The purpose of the Challenge is to encourage the creation and upload of original graphic resources by Freepik contributors, in order to expand the platform’s catalogue in certain seasonal themes, specifically Easter and Songkran, in accordance with the creative, technical and quality criteria defined by Freepik.
3. Subjective scope of participation
The following individuals may participate in the Challenge:
- Persons who are at least eighteen (18) years old.
- Contributors registered on Freepik under the Pay Per Download model.
- Persons holding an active account in good standing on the Freepik platform.
Employees of Freepik, as well as any persons who do not meet the requirements set out in these terms and conditions, are excluded from participation.
4. Timeframe
The Challenge shall be valid from 15 January to 15 February, both dates inclusive. Only resources uploaded within this period shall be considered valid.
The winners will be announced on 10 March, and the financial incentive shall be included in the invoice corresponding to the month of April.
5. Resource requirements
In order for resources to be considered valid for the purposes of the Challenge, they must cumulatively meet the following requirements:
- They must be original and created entirely by the participant.
- They must not have been generated, either in whole or in part, using artificial intelligence tools.
- They must comply with the themes, search terms, tags and formats defined by Freepik for each challenge.
- They must comply with Freepik’s applicable technical and quality standards.
- They must not infringe intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, image rights or any other rights of third parties.
Freepik reserves the right to exclude any resource that, at its sole discretion, does not comply with these requirements.
6. Participation mechanics
Participation shall take place through the upload of resources to the Freepik platform, duly tagged with the specific Challenge tags available in the Contributors panel, within the indicated period.
Each participant may upload as many resources as they wish. Each participant may upload as many resources as they wish, provided that they always comply with the monthly upload limit applicable to their subscription; however, only those resources that meet the established criteria and reach the minimum volume required for each category shall be taken into account.
7. Categories and incentives
The following categories are established:
- Top 5 Vectors
- Top 5 Photographs
- Top 5 PSD
In each category, five (5) winners shall be selected. Each winner shall receive a financial incentive of EUR 100, resulting in a total of fifteen (15) winners.
In the event that the winner elects to receive payment in a currency other than EUR, the amount payable shall be adjusted in accordance with the applicable exchange rate in effect on the date the payment is made.
The incentive shall only be awarded if the participant has published at least fifty (50) valid resources within the corresponding category.
8. Evaluation and selection criteria
Resources shall be evaluated by an internal jury composed of professionals from Freepik’s creative team. The selection shall be carried out based, among others, on the following criteria:
- Thematic relevance: the content must clearly, directly and coherently represent the proposed term or theme.
- Technical execution: balanced composition, appropriate lighting, chromatic coherence, among other factors.
- Style, aesthetics and creative value.
- Coherence and consistency in series or collections.
The evaluation shall be carried out anonymously and in accordance with a common scoring matrix. The jury’s decision shall be based exclusively on the score obtained in accordance with the established parameters. The jury’s decision shall be final and binding.
9. Intellectual property
Participation in the Challenge is governed by Freepik’s General Terms and Conditions, which the participant declares to know and accept. These terms are available here.
The participant guarantees that they hold all rights necessary over the submitted resources and releases Freepik from any liability arising from third-party claims.
10. Tax matters
The financial incentives shall be subject, where applicable, to the relevant tax regulations. The participant shall be solely responsible for complying with their tax obligations.
11. Amendment, cancellation and exclusion
Freepik reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the Challenge, as well as to exclude any participant who breaches these terms or acts fraudulently.
12. Data protection
The personal data provided by participants shall be processed by Freepik for the purpose of managing the Challenge, in accordance with applicable data protection regulations and Freepik’s Privacy Policy. Participants may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by contacting rpd@freepik.com.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms shall be governed by Spanish law. For any dispute arising from the Challenge, the parties expressly submit to the Courts and Tribunals of the city of Málaga, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction that may correspond to them.
