    Methodology

Using Ahrefs, KeywordTool, and Google, we created a list of search terms and questions about AI generation. Using these terms, we searched across the U.S. states to see which state discusses AI content the most per 10,000 people. We also turned these search terms into hashtags and searched across various social media platforms to identify which platform had the most mentions of AI content. We also searched the 100 most followed Instagram pages to identify how much of their recent content (10 pictures) is potentially AI-generated. We used an AI image analyzer to see what percentage of the images were AI, calculating the average overall percentage of these 100 pages and how much content was potentially AI for each of these top 100 Instagram pages. Data is accurate as of August 26, 2024.
