Neighborhood design: Mayka Cañete’s vision for Miguel Peluqueros

When we seek to make a change in our look, we always have two things clear. First, we want to put ourselves in the best possible hands. And second, when we look in the mirror, the new reflection should show us a better version of ourselves, enhancing what makes us unique. At Miguel Peluqueros, they know exactly what we’re talking about (it’s their bread and butter!), and at Freepik, we do the same, but swapping shears for the power of good design.

This neighborhood hair salon in La Trinidad, Málaga, has been one of the establishments that has undergone a 180-degree transformation with our Neighborhood design project. The credit goes to Mayka Cañete, a graphic designer from Málaga who has made good use of our AI tools to express the power of her ideas quickly and effectively. It’s better to let them share their first-hand experience with us.

The signature of this transformation

A designer like Mayka couldn’t miss the opportunity to work on this project: a lover of her city and a specialist in digital marketing, she had the perfect background to lead an initiative like this. Her reason for joining our action coincided perfectly with our main objective: “Collaborating for a social cause is something precious, especially to help those small local businesses that do not have enough resources to boost their business.”

The challenge for her was significant, especially because she had to step out of her comfort zone and try a different, more minimalist, and elegant style. But who’s afraid when it comes to making a contribution?

Thanks to Neighborhood Design, Miguel Peluqueros' salon has taken its local appeal to new heights, leveraging its impact with the power of great designs, made faster by AI tools. This is the before and after.

A salon with personality

For Miguel, the salon owner, the idea of reinventing the hair salon had been on his mind for some time. He was looking for the opportunity to sit down with experts in the field to rethink his business and give it a more current and elegant image. So when Freepik offered him the opportunity, he didn’t think twice.

Miguel and Mayka made a great team from the start. He took the time to share his vision with the designer, and she took excellent note of every detail, appreciating that her client was so clear and creative at the same time.

The mission was clear: to change the facade and logo without losing the essence that characterizes it. They wanted to enhance the interior of the premises through the exterior, as is done in the shop windows and models of high fashion brands, but maintaining a minimalist and elegant style with the original colors: sand, black, white, and wood. The owner trusted her completely: «I take care of my clients’ hair, and the designer refreshes and updates my corporate identity». And the result couldn’t have been better.

Before and after: Freepik in action

The transformation of Miguel Peluqueros is proof of what can be achieved when creativity, a desire for improvement, and a little technological help come together. For Mayka, working with AI tools by Freepik has been like discovering a chest full of treasures that have made it possible to bring her ideas to life and achieve impressive results faster: «Freepik, as a platform, presents you with a multitude of content that helps you achieve your designs satisfactorily as you have envisioned them». Miguel is «delighted» with how his premises have turned out, which not only underwent a makeover but also took a big step forward to make his business stand out and increase his sales.
