Make your search smarter with Freepik
We’re super excited to share our recently launched search guide page with you – a quick guide to help you find exactly what you’re looking for in the smartest and easiest way possible. In this blog, I’ll use some of our filters and features – including Search by image – to give examples of how you can create unique designs quickly and efficiently.
When can I use filters?
Whenever you type something in the search bar, you land on a results page with a list of filters to choose from. Our team constantly improves them so that you can find the most accurate results quickly. These filters are designed to help you work on your projects more comfortably and create consistent and beautiful designs easily.
But let me give you an example of how our filters can make your search even more precise. Say you’re working on a Ramadan campaign and need new designs. You’d usually type “Ramadan” in the search bar and pick something that catches your attention on the results page, right? You can surely improve your search by customizing your best results even further. As a start, you could set the style to watercolor, select your file type to SVG, and get an image like this one.
Now, if the watercolor style isn’t your favorite, you still have plenty of other styles and filters to play with, so don’t worry. As I said, this is just an example.
What about Search by image?
Search by image is the simplest way to find images, vectors, and icons similar to the ones you’ve got. It’s also the right solution when you want to maintain a coherent visual style across all your projects, for example. You can opt for this search whenever you want to look for a design without any text input – you just need an image, icon, or vector.
This is a very common scenario where you should go for this search option. Imagine you’re developing a brand identity for a start-up café. They’ve shown you a cute image of a coffee mug they love but need more designs in a similar style. Here is where you can use Search by image to upload the image they showed you and find vectors, photos, or icons that match your needs.
This could be another scenario: you’ve designed a stunning invitation for a gala event and now need to find decor elements that match. Upload the invitation design with search by image, and you will get patterns and backgrounds that complement the invitation design for a memorable themed event.
