DC Comics is getting a new logo and identity

DC Comics as a brand has gone through quite a few different logos ever since starting up in the thirties. Their last one has been around for four years now, and this new logo will be replacing the previous one on the cover of DC Universe Rebirth Special, coming out on May the 25th.

The new logotype uses flat color and simple lines, which makes it a lot more versatile than its predecessor. It is truly reminiscent of the most iconic logos that the brand has sported in the past, and with their new number they want to bring the superheroes legacies back.

The comic publishing company doesn’t limit their activity to paper, since their product has expanded over many different media. This new logotype intends to have enough strength and personality to be amongst the most iconic representations of the brand.

Amit Desai, DC Entertainment Senior Vice President of Marketing and Global Franchise Management, stated: “The launch of the new logo is the perfect tribute to DC’s legacy, exciting future and most importantly, our fans”.
