Cornetto’s commitment rings won’t let you watch TV shows without your partner

You know how sometimes couples start watching the same TV show, and they make a ritual out of this. Popcorn, drinks and, of course, the promise that one shall never ever watch the latest episode before the other. But of course, sometimes the temptation is just too hard to resist and when the newest episode of Game of Thrones comes out, you just can’t help yourself.

At least 12% of the people surveyed admitted that they would watch an episode and later pretend that they hadn’t seen it and just re-watch it with their partner to not upset them. The fact that this actually happens is funny enough for Cornetto to bring attention to this situation in their latest marketing campaign.

They have designed commitment rings that sync with streaming services (such as Netflix and Hulu, amongst others) through an app that won’t allow any member of the couple to watch the shows previously agreed upon until the two are together, using NFC (Near Field Communication) technology from the rings to the app.
