Bus seat fabric designers see their work transformed into stain-proof clothing
Who designs the fabric in bus seats? That must be the work of someone, right? These anonymous pieces of art go mostly unnoticed by people who use public transportation on a daily basis. But there they are every day, fulfilling their mission.
The fabric found in bus seats is designed to be stain and spill proof, because so many people use them every day and they have to be suitable for such task. Designer Menja Stevenson decided to pay a tribute to these fabrics and make a line of uniforms using them in her designs.
The uniforms are, in consequence, stain-proof and resistant. Also, they make the ultimate camouflage garments. The artist says that she has worn these pieces in public and nobody seemed to notice that it was no coincidence that her dress was the same fabric as the seat!
