How movie titles such as Star Wars were made when artists didn’t have Photoshop or Illustrator

The opening title and credits of all of your old favorite films were made in an age where artists and designers didn’t have access to awesome software like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to aid them in their tasks like creating movie titles.

 Of course, computer software isn’t the only way to create beautiful film edition effects and title credits. Designer Dan Perri tells in this video how they worked to create the effects in the days of the first Start Wars films.

He was inspired and at some point tutored by graphic designer Saul Bass, but he had to work very hard and be very persistent for him to accept him as his pupil! You will probably learn a bit more about graphic design history in the interview.
