” I have been extremely pleased with the amount of downloads I am receiving at Freepik and am looking forward to being a regular contributor”

1. Please Kirsty, tell our followers a bit about yourself and your porftolio. How many designs have you designed through out your life? When did you start to design? What style do you feel more comfortable designing?

My name is Kirsty Pargeter and I live in Norfolk, England with my partner Ade, my son Jake and my 7 dogs. I have always been interested in design and I went to college to study Graphic design. I worked in various print and design agencies until eventually going self employed in 2004. I love working with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. KJPargeter Images is a partnership between myself and my partner Adrian Wise. Between us we have  a portfolio of approximately 20,000 images consisting of 3D images, Photoshop textures, abstract backgrounds, medical images and vectors. I am hopeful that I will be able to submit all these images to Freepik in the future. At the moment I am just able to submit my vector images of which I have over 4,000 designs and I will be working to get these all uploaded to Freepik as the more images you have online, the more money you will earn.

2. I have noticed you have accounts in various platforms such as Shutterstock, Fotolia, istock, etc. Why did you choose to share your work at Freepik as well? What attracted you of Freepik?

I like the longevity of Freepik – you upload your image non exclusively to the site and it is there forever for people to download earning you money long term. The upload procedure is very straightforward and easy and Freepik are extremely helpful if you have any issues. The fact that you don’t have to be exclusive with Freepik is a big bonus. I have been extremely pleased with the amount of downloads I am receiving at Freepik and am looking forward to being a regular contributor.

3. According to you, what would be the main advantages you would highlight of working with Freepik’s contributor model (Payment per Download) compared to what other platforms offer you?

I think the fact that you don’t have to register with Freepik to download images attracts a lot of visitors and the fact that you are able to download the same image several times as it is free.

4. What is the maximum earnings you have achieved in an illustration at Freepik? When did you upload that illustration? In General, are you satisfied the earnings you receive at Freepik for all your files?

I have earned $207.74 on 1 image alone at Freepik. This image was uploaded on the 9th December 2015. I am very satisfied and very surprised with the earnings I have received so far.

5. About Freepik’s Business Model. Do you believe that offering your illustrations for free to users to download whenever they like, devaluates your designs?

I don’t think offering your images for free devalues my designs – I upload to various stock sites and receive sometimes 5 cents for a downloaded image. I think that because it is free encourages people to download more images, so I can earn more money.

6. You roughly joined Freepik just 2 months ago and you have already achieved great success. In your opinion, What do you think is the secret behind this success?

I am extremely pleased with my success at Freepik so far. I think the key to success is to upload a variety of designs on a regular basis but also be very aware of any holidays coming up and to design seasonal images well in advance of all holidays – such as Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, etc.

7. What advice would you give to other designers who decide to join Freepik through the “Become a Contributor” Model ?

My advice to any future contributors of Freepik is to make sure you have a varied portfolio with a combination of various styles of design so that customers are able to see a broad range of images from you. Also make sure you upload images regular to keep your portfolio fresh.
