These are the worst colors to paint your home with according to science

Remember how we spoke about the ugliest color ever and how it was supposed to dissuade people from smoking? Well, I expect that would be the last color you would paint your walls at home. Still, some scientists have determined that it was necessary to research which are the worst colors to paint your house with. Well, here are (part of) the results.

Orange Popsicle

02d

Paint colors are supposed to lift your spirit, and even though Orange Popsicle is a pretty happy color itself, it disappoints on the wall. It’s said to be too overwhelming, and even stimulates appetite. It makes sense, since it seems to be screaming “Cheetos Time” at oneself.

Blazing Yellow

02b

It surely is blazing. For your retinas, maybe. It’s too aggressive and bright, so it can make you feel anxious or distressed. Leave this for a couple of pillows or small accents to make you feel energized.

Opaque Couche

02c

Are you trying to quit smoking? Painting the walls would be a good way to take your mind off the habit. Just, not this color. Nope.

Parfait Pink

02a

Although this muted and pale shade of pink looks like a safe, non-blazing color, don’t take it for granted: its dullness can suck the life out of a room, and painting the walls with this can bring you down in no time.
