Not everyone understands tech related jargon, but everyone has the right to know what they are about. That is why Jigsaw (from Google) has teamed up with The Washington Post to produce the ‘Sideways Dictionary’.
This dictionary allows people to share analogies that are easy to understand for the general public, so there can be a side by side comparison of the terms to help people grasp these basic and advanced technology concepts.
This is a great idea from which the average users can benefit, and the experts can contribute to the building of a public resource of knowledge. Not everyone knows what a DDoS attack is, but they can see the difference between inviting 10 kids to a birthday party and having 40,000 show up!
