Pat Hines decided one day that he wanted to illustrate his own novel, Camp Redblood And The Essential Revenge, but he tried and tried to learn how to use professional painting software and he just ended up giving up, because he found them too complicated to use.
He then focused on MS Paint, and thanks to his perseverance, he became a master after ten years practicing the use of this software. His illustrations are filled with details, and it’s incredible that he doesn’t even need layers!
Being a successful artist isn’t about using difficult programs, mastering the trickiest of medias or having expensive tools. Sometimes, with very little, artists manage to surprise the world with their incredible pieces.
